Since 2020, Michael has been the Institute Manager at The Productivity Institute, overseeing and facilitating TPI’s research and managing the operational aspects of its funding schemes. His role includes project management, financial oversight, reporting, facilitating research calls, and ensuring alignment with the Institute’s core research objectives. Prior to this, Michael spent several years in research project roles, focusing on proposal development, budgeting, post-award processes, and financial management. During this time, he worked closely with academics, including those at the Graphene Institute and Jodrell Bank, and managed funding from key sponsors, including multi-partner international grants, EU grants, UKRI, and other prominent funders across Science and Engineering. Before moving into research, he spent eight years in banking, where he supported large corporate pension funds and fund manager clients with global trading and investments at a US custody bank.
